Johnny Wilson was born a Jungai – a leader – responsible for taking care of his family and his people.
So, when the Gudanji-Wambaya man learnt a gas well was being built about 20 kilometres from his ancestral home off the Carpentaria Highway in the Northern Territory’s north-east, and that there could be up to 6000 wells drilled under Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s so-called gas-fired recovery plan, he sensed a call to arms.
